Basic Computer Training

This training is available, one-on-one or in a small group, to newcomers and refugees who are interested to learn basic computer skills in a relaxed and informal setting. This is available for free daily, by appointment, at the Newcomer Welcome Centre.

This training provides basic computer information and experiences. Newcomers and refugees will learn keyboarding skills, how to use word processing program, email and learn to access the internet.

Newcomers will learn the following:

  • Parts of the computer;
  • Opening and saving documents;
  • Searching the internet;
  • Accessing websites.


This service is available for free to permanent and temporary residents, newly naturalized Canadian citizens and refugees. Please visit our Newcomer Welcome Center at 222 Smith St. E, Yorkton or call 1.306.783.2777.
