Enhanced Settlement and Integration Supports

Staff members are readily available to assist newcomers and refugees with their needs such as daily living, employment, housing, accessing various information, connecting to various community or cultural groups, faith and others.

Newcomers and refugees are given assistance for free with their settlement needs. Services provided are:

  • Initial needs assessment;
  • Goal setting;
  • Information and orientation (life skills, transportation, housing, employment, education, financial matters, etc.);
  • Referrals to language classes;
  • Referrals to government and community services
  • Referrals to PSI programs, and those of other agencies provide services  to newcomers;
  • Interpretation/translation;
  • Solution focused counseling, support and orientation;
  • Tour of the community.
